BNM issues policy document on Skim Pembiayaan Mikro

On 11 November 2024, BNM issued a policy document on Skim Pembiayaan Mikro (“SPM”), which came into effect immediately. The policy document sets out an enhanced SPM framework to be complied with by financial institutions, following the initiatives in the Financial Sector Blueprint 2022-2026 to reinforce the finance ecosystem for microentrepreneurs while promoting an inclusive and sustainable microfinance sector.
