Securities Commission Malaysia revises LOLA Guidelines, introducing categories of sophisticated investors

On 5 February 2024, the Securities Commission Malaysia revised the Guidelines on Unlisted Capital Market Products under the Lodge and Launch Framework (“LOLA Guidelines”) as follows:

• Introduction of categories of sophisticated investors as set out in the Guidelines on Categories of Sophisticated Investors;

• Additional amendments to clarify requirements relating to the auditors of a local wholesale fund financial statement that is included as part of the annual report; and

• Housekeeping amendments to enhance clarity and consistency of the requirements under the LOLA Guidelines.
