Sinn E’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, privatisations and other areas of corporate and commercial law.
She has extensive experience acting for private equity funds, foreign and domestic investors, financial institutions and government-linked corporations on high value and complex transactions in various industries.
She has worked on various notable merger and acquisition transactions in Malaysia, including acquisitions or disposals of insurance companies, power plants and manufacturing companies and joint ventures in the development of hotels and other commercial and residential properties. In IFLR1000, Sinn E was noted to be “an excellent M&A lawyer, very commercial and always responsive”.
Sinn E joined the Firm in 2014 and has been a partner since 2015.
Work Highlights
- Advised Minor Hotel Group on its joint venture with Destination Resorts and Hotels, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional, to acquire land on the Desaru Coast, Johor, Malaysia to be jointly developed into a 5-star luxury resort hotel and villa complex to be called the Anantara Desaru Resort & Villas, the total cost of which project was RM280 million.
- Advised Ant Financial Services Group as Malaysian counsel on its joint venture with Touch n’ Go Sdn. Bhd. to develop a mobile wallet ecosystem for Malaysia.
- Advised KV Asia Capital on its acquisition of APIIT Education Group, comprising Asia Pacific University, APIIT and Asia Pacific Schools, at an enterprise value of RM725 million.
