Eilene’s areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, strategic investments, divestitures, restructurings, and general corporate law matters.

She has advised strategic clients and financial sponsors on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including competitive sale processes and multi-stage transactions.

Her practice extends across multiple sectors, including financial services, retail trade, food and beverage, healthcare, education, manufacturing, technology, and energy.

Eilene joined the Firm in 2013 as a pupil, and was seconded to the Hong Kong office of a magic circle law firm in 2018.

Work Highlights

• Advised AXA Asia and Affin Bank Berhad as Malaysian counsel on their disposal of a controlling stake in AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad and AXA Affin Life Insurance Berhad to Generali Asia NV, and advising Affin Bank Berhad on the subsequent merger of AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad and MPI Generali Insurans Berhad’s general insurance businesses. This deal won the "M&A Deal of the Year" award at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Malaysia Law Awards 2022.
• Advised the Charoen Pokphand Group as Malaysian counsel on its acquisition of Tesco’s businesses in Thailand and Malaysia. This deal won the “M&A Deal of the Year” award at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Malaysia Law Awards 2021 and was shortlisted in the “Editor’s Choice Impact Deal and Case Awards” at the Asialaw Awards 2021.
• Advised on the acquisition of a strategic stake in one of the largest laboratory service providers in Malaysia.
