Eight contractors face possible fines for bid rigging

On 23 April 2024, the MyCC provisionally found that eight enterprises had infringed the Competition Act 2010 by allegedly rigging the bids of two tenders of the Public Works Department and one tender of the Department of Drainage and Irrigation worth approximately RM473 million. The tenders were in relation to the provision of services for construction works for roads and flood mitigation systems. The MyCC will issue its final decision once they have had the opportunity to consider each enterprise’s written representations and their oral representations, if any.
